carbon dioxide, soot and water vapor from the engine exhaust, and adds oxygen to the cleaned exhaust to make it the intake gas. The system can be driven independently of the environment, then used in closed spaces such as underwater or in a tunnel. The CCDE system can be used repeatedly if only fuel, liquefied oxygen and carbon dioxide absorbent are supplied. This makes it possible not only to reduce the running cost but also to facilitate maintenance of the system.
In addition, a large payload space is secured in the "R-one Robot" to accommodate various instruments for measuring oceanic environmental factors. Installation of analytical chemical equipment in this space would make it possible to measure dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide and dissolved metals in seawater. Or, by mounting instruments to measure the magnetic field and the gravity field, and having the robot run just above the sea bed, any abnormality in magnetism or gravity can be assessed. A TV camera or a still camera can also be installed to take visual recordings of the seabed surface.
